Meet the Owner: Anita Volkenant
Anita has had a lifelong passion for plants, starting her first garden at the age of three. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Horticulture and Public Gardening and has worked more than 25 years in the industry.
Her enthusiasm and love for the outdoors inspired her in reaching her life-long goal of owning and operating her own gardening business. She decided to name her landscaping and xeriscaping company in Minnetonka after the five-generation family farm, Pleasant View.
After 17 years in business, Pleasant View Gardens has greatly increased its capacity to create and maintain fabulous spaces throughout the Lake Minnetonka and West Metro area. Their mission remains the same: to create beautiful spaces filled with unique plant material, allowing you to enjoy your ‘Pleasant View’.
Our Team
Our staff of Minnetonka based landscaping and xeriscaping contractors has a combined experience of 50 years plus of experience in the industry. We are certified through the Minnesota Landscape Association (MNLA), are members of the Minnesota Horticultural Society, and the Perennial Plant Association. We continue to educate ourselves on new processes and methods in the gardening industry. Our staff of garden experts are eager to assist you in the gardening process.
A Strong Minnesota Heritage
At Pleasant View Gardens we are strongly rooted in our family history. Pleasant View Gardens is a family owned business that originated in 2006, but our story truly begins in 1864 with the establishment of the family farm just west of Minneapolis, MN.
Pleasant View Farms is now in its 157th year, and its operation is carried on by the fifth generation owners and continues to prosper and grow. Our family’s desire to be environmental stewards has not changed throughout the generations, and our Minnetonka based landscaping contractors’ desire to create beautiful and naturally enjoyable spaces continues to grow!
